A note from the Director

When I started writing this story, I did not know how it would turn out. I just wanted to express in some way the emotion that someone might have felt watching Jesus on that cross over two thousand years ago. As I wrote I was thinking about Jesus hanging on that cross, I thought how God was helping him along his journey to the destiny to which he was born. Moments before his death, he asked God to forgive those who were responsible for his crucifixion.  What an amazing thing for this man to do. The pain must have been excruciating yet his plea to God for forgiveness must have cut through the air like a bolt of lightning; the undeniable truth thundering in the ears of the witnesses.  This man was truly remarkable!

All of his days of preaching Jesus told his followers to forgive their enemies and treat them with love. How many of us can do that today?  I know I can hold on to some anger over the ones who have harmed me.  I find myself fretting over things that happened years ago; things that are done, finished and completely out of the minds of the ones who hurt me. But you know, every time I go to that dark place, I realize more and more how futile that thinking is. Nothing good comes from those demons that frighten me. It’s time to let it go.

I also found that forgiving myself is even harder than forgiving others. I can sometimes be my worst enemy. Every day I pray for strength to put all my transgressions to the feet of Jesus and ask him for forgiveness. I feel the Holy Spirit all around me so I know he is always with me. I just need to remember that each time I start to fall away.

When I finished writing this story, I understood what Jesus was teaching me, here, now in 2011. He wanted me to fully comprehend what his sacrifice meant. How can I fully understand what he is all about, if I don’t understand the ultimate sacrifice God made by giving up his only son to save my soul? Jesus Christ is the most relevant man I have ever known. Even with all my failings I am convinced that he loves me and he has forgiven me. I am so blessed to be a follower of his works, a believer in his words and a grateful child of the father who I worship in all of his glory and majesty. This film is dedicated to the Father to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

Please feel free to be absorbed into Gods love and open your hearts to do what Jesus wants us to do. Feel free to bring your emotions to the forefront of your minds and ask for his forgiveness or to forgive someone who has hurt you.
